Being both a clinician and a parent means living in constant duality: I am a listener, guide, and caregiver in two worlds. Early in my career, I blurred those lines too often—bringing paperwork home, checking emails during playtime, and slowly burning out under the weight of “doing it all.”
Now? I schedule family time as deliberately as I do therapy sessions. No emails during dinner. No notes after bedtime stories. That discipline has made me not just a better mother, but a more focused, present therapist.
It’s a simple but powerful shift: Time-blocking isn’t just for productivity—it’s for peace.
